Newsletter – Sep 11th 2012
Dear All,
We are so excited to begin teaching at the Recreation and Parks Division facility in Mt. Shasta Park (at the Dude’s and Daisy’s building. The park is located at 1315 Nixon Road in Mt. Shasta (possibly named after us, since my father did teach math and coach the Football team at Mt. Shasta High School back in the late 1950s through 1960…either us or this guy who, as a minor government functionary, some years ago managed to attain some degree of notoriety for being caught doing something quite possibly less objectionable than what they are all doing to us today). See below for details (about dancing, that is).
Also, the bold have spoken, the meek must follow… The vote was overwhelming and the results: everyone who had an opinion in the Wednesday and Thursday night Wellness Center classes preferred to spend more time on one dance than cycling through all of them week after week and those who did not have an opinion were happy to go along. So we will be continuing with the Waltz this week and throughout the month. Then in October, a new dance for that month.
For those of you who do prefer to learn a new dance each time, the Saturday night class will continue changing from week to week as usual. And, as usual, we will continue playing music for all of the different dances at the practice parties with a slight emphasis on the dance taught that evening.
Come join us for any or all.
See you on dance floor this week.

VIENNESE WALTZ (Sept. 29)
This class uses basic Bronze (and some Silver) steps to develop and strengthen your ability to dance smoothly and boldly (which, just between you and me, is where the real fun is hidden). The International Technique also applies to American Style dances and will strengthen ones ability to have more power and control when dancing in the American Style.
Because of the long (five Saturdays) month, we will be doing one class of Viennese Waltz to give you a chance to learn the technique and get enough steps to allow you to get around the floor (without getting dizzy).
Cost: $10 per person for two hour session.
Come to the whole series to get the full benefit or just drop in when you can -there are benefits to be gained from each session.
