Ballroom Newsletter – September 10th 2013
Dear Dancer,
Those of you who were still out of town because of Labor day will be happy to hear that it is not even remotely too late to join any of the Swing classes. We started slow (to strengthen technique), there were small numbers (i.e., more attention for you) and we always review in any event (unless, of course, that event were to be the sudden eruption of Mt. Shasta, in which case we will be hot-footing it {no pun intended} out of here as fast as everyone else and review be damned! but otherwise…) so we will be covering the same material that we covered last week , if only just a little more quickly. And, of course, adding more.
The same is true for the Saturday morning Technique Class (which is Foxtrot). The nature of the technique class makes it worth your while to attend, even if you have missed one of the earlier dances in the series. You will get maximum benefit if you come to all of the sessions, but you will definitely benefit from each class, even if taken alone. A little progress is better than no progress, wouldn’t you say?
So come to any class you want, whether you have missed any of the preceding classes. We will welcome you, it will be good for you, and Terpsichore, the Muse of Dance and Song will have been served. Better than win-win, it is win-win-win.
And don’t forget, these two dances will prepare you for 80 per cent of the dances that will be played at the Siskiyou Big Band function, “Swing Into Autumn”. That’s a lot of dancing and all to live music which everyone should experience at least once in their life. (Link for details provided just below.)
Quickstep, Rumba and Waltz will take care of the other 20 %. Keep your eye out for lessons in one those in our Saturday evening class and practice session. And anyone who wants private lessons before the event (or even after) can contact us here.
Come join us.
See you on the dance floor.
