Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County – January 28th 2014
Dear Dancer,
Starting February, we are going to move our Saturday Evening Dance lesson and Practice party from the 2nd and 4th Saturdays to the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, so that means this Saturday we will be back at the Dudes and Daisies Lodge in Mt. Shasta park. Hope to see you there.
Because so many people are making so much progress, we have decided to continue with the Waltz in the Wednesday evening Weed Wellness Center for one more month. The class has multiple levels from the very beginning level to fairly advanced, so if any of you want to start up, we have a place for you.
The same is true for the Saturday morning class. One more month will cement in all of the wonderful progress so many have been making, so we will put off Quickstep until March and spend one more month on Waltz for February. Beginners are always welcome and will benefit highly from these classes as well.

NEW SCHEDULE FOR NEXT MONTH: February CLASSES:
Tuesday night Beginning Class; will be Tango – American (easy) Style.
Wednesday night; will be Waltz
Thursday night; will be Foxtrot.
Please come join us.
You do not need to be a Wellness Center member to attend these classes.
Single class: $7.00/person.
Class Card (four classes or more): non-members: $20 for four classes ($5.00/class per person).
Wellness Center Members can get special discount: Buy a class card for $20.00 and get 8 classes (a value of $2.50 per class).

SATURDAY MORNING TECHNIQUE CLASS: February 1st

This month’s dance; we will be continuing with: WALTZ
Those of you who wish to begin in February are welcome to join us. The nature of the Technique class allows everyone in the class to work at his or her own level. We guarantee you will not be left behind.
10:00 – 11:00 -Technique Drills in International Standard & American Smooth Style Dances. Focusing on Lowering, Rotation and Sway which improves your performance in all of the dances by giving you more control over your balance, timing and power.
11:00 – Noon – Amalgamations. Putting the drills you worked on in the first hour to work in the actual steps as you develop more control over the steps, floorcraft and yourself.
Cost : $10 per person
$5 youth discount

PRIVATE LESSONS are AVAILABLE to anyone who would rather learn in a more personal environment (i.e. no witnesses) or to anyone who wants to progress faster or to anyone who simply wants private lessons. Also, if you cannot make it to any of the group class times, private lessons are arranged in accordance with your schedule and at your convenience. Contact us by e-mail or telephone (number can be found below).
GROUP PRIVATES & SPECIAL EVENTS are also available. If you can’t make it to our classes and you think you have a number of friends and acquaintances who would be interested and you can get together, let us know and we can come to you at times more convenient to you. Also, Weddings, Birthday Parties, Anniversaries are all great places to include Ballroom Dancing.
We are also available to lecture, demonstrate or perform at any event you would like to liven up.
