Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – August 23rd 2016
Dear All,
Quick notice: The Saturday morning Technique Class will be in the Lower Lodge, right next door to (at the right of) the Park Dance Hall this week. Join us there.
Also, you will notice, if you peruse the following newsletter closely, that we have changed the Wednesday night curriculum for next month. It was supposed to be Intermediate Swing/Jive but now it says it is going to be Waltz/Viennese Waltz.
“Why, oh why?” you ask. Well, Sir (and Ma’am and Ma’amzelle), the Beginning Swing Jive class took off like gangbusters the first week, slowed significantly the following week, and then, by last week, the gang apparently got busted, since only one couple showed up.
We are taking this as a referendum of interest in Swing as demonstrated by the will of the people and have decided to replace it with something not often taught but that is still lots of fun. That’s why.
Now, if there was a group of you who have had basic Swing and were simply waiting for it to move to the Wednesday class, please contact us and let us know. It is not impossible that Swing could be re-instated for Wednesdays in September, but we do need at least a mild groundswell of expressed interest to make that happen. It is in your hands, now, do as you will.
Otherwise, because our Thursday crowd are keen on Swing, we will be bringing it back on Thursdays in October, JSYK (Just So’s Ya Know).
A brief reminder: while we have two more sessions each in the Tuesday Swing class and the Wednesday Waltz class, this will be the final week of the Thursday Cha-cha class since Thursday of next week is September first. The Cha-cha we are teaching this month is a doozy, so come get doozed.
See You There.
