Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – September 6th 2016
Dear All,
Ah, September at last. School is starting, fiscal years are ending, Summer is turning to Autumn… a lot of responsibility for one poor month to contend with.
But, presumably, the worst of the Summer heat is behind us now and as the weather cools, it is a good time to start becoming more active to keep the inner fires burning.
In keeping with the “back to school” theme of the month, we are starting our class series at the beginning with the simplest of all the dances, the American Style Foxtrot (or, as the British spell it: Fawlkestraught).
This would be an excellent time for the novices among you to start to learn how to dance, since this dance is relatively uncomplicated. Those of you who are long time (or short time) students of ours, this would be a great time to encourage your friends to get involved. And those of you who have stumbled upon this newsletter by accident, this would be a good time to take a shot at partner dancing.
A quick word about Wednesday night class: it says Waltz/Viennese Waltz, and the way that is going to work is that we will take the first lesson or two working slow Waltz, then shading into the Viennese Waltz syllabus at slow Waltz tempo and then, by the end of the month, bringing everything up to speed and Bingo! You will be doing the Viennese Waltz B-4 you know it (you see what I did there, making a little Bingo joke?). Come join us.
See You There.
