Ballroom Newsletter, Siskisyou County & Northern California – October 9th 2017
Dear All,
Slight change of venue, all, for the Saturday Technique class. Instead of being at the Dance Hall, we will be in the Lower Lodge this week, right next door to the dance hall.
Here’s something I’ll bet you didn’t know: that lodge was originally given a Chinese name: Lao Ehr Lodge, which is a Chinese phrase meaning “next to the source” or “close to the source”, which is appropriate as that, of the three lodges in the park, that is the lodge closest to the headwaters. The pronunciation has degraded to “Lower Lodge” over the decades so that is why we call it what we call it today. Remember, you heard it here first.
Even though we are continuing with the Waltz from last month in the Saturday Technique class, we work with everyone at their own level, so any and all are welcome to join us at any time. Your dancing won’t regret it, your enjoyment won’t regret it and you won’t regret it either.
And it just so happens that our beginning class on Tuesday is also Waltz, so if you are a complete novice (or if you just want to strengthen your basic understanding of the Waltz) please join us on Tuesdays this month to learn this most romantic of all the smooth dances. It is by no means too late and we would love to have you join us.
Then you can pop in on Saturdays to whip the romantic Waltz into shape in order to enjoy it even more.
Oh yeah, the Cha-cha is getting to be really fun and the Tango is getting to be reallier funner. Join us for those classes, too.
See you there.
