Ballroom Newsletter, Sisiyou County & Northern California – March 25th 2019
Dear All,
Here we are at the end of March (or “Dance” as we had decided to call it earlier this month). What have we got to show for it? Why, new dancing skills, of course! Let’s keep up the good work (or get started with the good work, depending on each person’s personal circumstances) and dance our way straight into April (and beyond)!
It is now officially Spring (though as of right now, it is a “White” Spring but we don’t expect that to last long) and time for Spring Cleaning. My family used to call it “Spring Straightening Up”. Part of that process involved putting our house in order after a long winter of “hibernation”, but part of it also involved straightening ourselves up as well (as in: “straighten up and fly right”!).
In the spirit of our family tradition, we encourage you all to put part of your “Spring Cleaning” efforts into re-evaluating your priorities, breaking down bad habits and launching yourselves into positive efforts that will put you on a path toward your fondest dreams. (But while you’re at it, don’t forget to clean that house, too.)
We hope (but do not demand) that learning how to dance lies on that path to your fondest dreams, and so, as part of our own “straightening up” efforts, we will continue to look at new and better ways to improve your progress on the dance floor, adding fun new steps, thereby speeding up your progress into the world of fun.
One day it will all seem so easy to you that you will be glad you stuck with it. We promise! Please join us.
Be seeing you all in class.

Saturday Morning Technique Class
Mt. Shasta City Park
Dance Lodge
1315 Nixon Rd, Mt. Shasta Ca
Saturday Mornings: March 23, 30
9:45 – 11:45 am
Dance: Waltz
9:45 – 10:45 am: Technical drills in International and American Smooth Style dances specifically designed to strengthen and improve your dancing and dancing abilities. Focusing on the elements that make Partner dancing more fluid, dynamic, powerful and fun: Lowering, Rotation, Swing, Cant and Sway. Developing these basic skills will improve your performance in not just this dance, but in all the dances by giving you more control over your balance, timing, power and expression. Or, in other words, allowing you to dance freely and funly.
And that is just too much fun to miss out on! So, what say you give it a try? Eh?
10:45 – 11:45 am: Amalgamations. Putting those drills you worked on in the first hour to work in the actual Figures of the dance, allowing you to develop more control over the steps, floor craft and yourself.
COST: $15/person
$10/person youth discount
April dance: Waltz II
