Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – July 1st 2019
Dear All,
So; no class on Thursday, the 4th of July this week. Enjoy your holiday this week because we are going to work you twice as hard next week! Only three weeks of Tango? . . .What was July thinking?!
There is good news, though. The Beginning class is going to be the fabulous Waltz this Tuesday. The Waltz is the most often encountered ballroom dance in the non-ballroom community (or “klutzes” as we affectionately call them), so besides being one of the most elegant & romantic of dances, the Waltz is also one of the most useful & practical!
Come learn the most basic steps of the Waltz on Tuesday nights this month. Or if you already know the most basic steps, come and use these steps to strengthen your dancing by developing your technique and lead/follow skills. Something for everyone!
Even better news: as July is a five-Wednesday month, there will be five classes of Bolero instead of just four! It looks like July is trying to make it up to us for stealing a Tango class away this Thursday!
And best news of all: for this week only (so far), the Saturday Morning Technique class is going to be held at the McCloud Dance Hall; 9:30-11:30 AM (104 Pine Street, McCloud). For those of you who have never experienced what is perhaps the largest dance floor in Northern California, this would be too good an opportunity to pass up.
Come see the stenciled pillars from over a hundred years ago! Come hear the state’s only singing dance floor! Come feel wide-open spaces whilst indoors! Oh yeah, and while you’re at it, come learn how to dance! Everyone works at their own level, so everyone from every level is welcome! Come join us.
See you there.

Developing these basic skills will improve your performance in not just this dance, but in all the dances by giving you more control over your balance, timing, power and expression.
