Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County and Northern California – April 11th 2022

Dear All,

Snow?  Are you kidding me?  SNOW?!? What is this, Indian Winter?  Well, there is only one possible response to this little weather contretemps: Dance.  Get that heart beating, get that blood flowing, get those sweat glands pumping, get those muscles strong and coordinated and, finally, get that spirit liberated so that every move you make sings that song that your soul and your soul alone can sing.   Or . . .  just dance to keep warm . . . your choice.

And this is a good month to do all of that, what with the Quickstep being taught on Wednesday nights and Swing/Jive being taught on Thursday nightsSwing/Jive is one of the most vigorous dances there is and is sure to engage all of the benefits listed in the previous paragraph and more!

Then there’s the Quickstep which is every bit as vigorous as Swing/Jive with body-flight  (which means you sail around the room {or dance hall} and is often compared to flying) thrown in to boot (which you won’t be wearing!).  It’s almost as if we chose this month’s dances with snow in mind (even though we did not)!

Come find out why many people consider Ballroom Dance to be not only a good form of exercise, but a great form of exercise.  If we don’t have you panting your pants off by the end of class then you forgot to put them on in the first place, buster.

We look forward to seeing you all in classes again this week.  And if you didn’t come last week, we will be reviewing everything thoroughly, so you will catch up (not the condiment) quickly and go on to have as much fun as everyone who did. So, don’t be afraid to join us!  All will welcome you with open arms.

See you there, then.

Cheers,

Rick and Peggy Nixon

p.s.  We are relaxing Mask Protocols..  We will encourage the un-vaccinated to do what you feel is best for yourselves and will happily wear our own masks when dealing with you specifically should you so desire.  Otherwise, we are all on our own, now, as so-called adults should be.  Make your decisions accordingly but make them based on real information.
