Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – August 20th 2024
Dear All,
Well. A noteworthy turn of weather, I must say (“Oh must you?” we hear you all moaning, to which we reply: “How long have you been reading these newsletters?”).
We are going to have to flip from our summer spiel (“come to our air-conditioned classroom and beat the heat”) to our autumn/winter spiel (why sit at home and shiver when you can come to dance class and shimmy?” {thereby keeping warm}). In fact, we were a little concerned this year about offering Samba in August (hot dance – hot month) but as it turns out: good choice.
There is no way one can dance the Samba (Thursday nights) without taking on heat. And the smooth, constant flow of the Foxtrot (Wednesday nights) will also spark an internal glow that will exceed the duration of the dance itself by a healthy margin.
Wednesday- Thursday: win-win (if you come to class)!
We promise not to turn the air-conditioner on (unless you are all showing signs of heat prostration {one of the several opposites of dance}). Come for the dance, stay for the comfort (as well as that oh-so-important healthy margin of health).
We look forward to seeing you in classes and watching you all succeed (we have dedicated ourselves to your success so come to classes and give us a shot at succeeding in our goal).
