Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – January 6th 2025
Dear All,
Dance Language Version: Dance. Dance, dance, dance. Dance-dance-dance-dance-dance. Dance! Dance-dance? DANCE! Dansitty, dansitty, dansitty. Dance. Dance. Dance.
(For the English Language translation, see the next paragraph.) A very compact, concise language is Dance Language. It took us three whole paragraphs in the English Language to say what was just said in only 19 words in Dance Language. So read on, McDuff.
English Language Version: Well, here we all are: another year of dancing-to-be-done before us. We encourage all of you who would benefit from making “dance every week (if not every day)” one of your New Year’s resolutions, to do just that; seize the day (by the short and curlies), take the bull by the horns (trumpets are still the best horns when it comes to taking bulls), bite the bullet (making sure that it is pointing outward) and resolve to “dance every week (if not every day)”.
And by the phrase “those of you who would benefit” we are referring, of course, to every single blessed one of you (we also accept the un-blessed {how else will they achieve that state of blessedness? [secular blessedness, that is]} in our classes so if you know any, bring them along).
And that includes us. If we can promise to attend classes, then so can everybody else. And we do promise to attend (as should you)! The more the merrier.
So, to point: Foxtrot begins this Wednesday night (6:45 – 7:45 pm {or so}) for four Wednesdays all told (and as receivers of this newsletter, you know you have been all told {if not over-told}) and Bolero will continue (having started last week) for four more Thursdays (6:45 – 7:45 pm) all told (ibid). Why it’s a veritable dance fest of, well, dancing! And with two of our favorite dances, too! We cannot exhort you strongly enough to join us (nor would you want us to try).
Start the new year off with a dance (the only thing we know that is bigger and better than a bang!). We look forward, as always, to seeing you in class.
Cheers,
Rick and Peggy Nixon
