Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – November 5th 2018
Dear Dancers,
Our first full week of November. Not much is changing. The Waltz class is really a Waltz class this time, so we are keeping the name (Waltz).
The Swing/Jive class is staying on the same day (Wednesday), and will be picking up where the October class left off. (Those of you who have missed the last couple of weeks, FEAR NOT! The first week you missed we did something else -at the behest of the couple that showed up- and last week we just reviewed everything we have done up until now without adding any new material. We will review again this week {perhaps adding one or two new steps -perhaps not} so you can slip right back in with no fears of being “too far behind!)
And, best news of all: Tuesdays are coming back! Starting on November 20th, we will be back at The Wellness Center on Tuesdays for at least a couple of months. We will finish up the month of November with a Swing clinic, which will be a couple of classes (11/20 & 11/27) dealing with basic Swing steps (for beginners) and addressing any questions about or issues with the more advanced steps that anybody from the Wednesday class (or from anywhere else) would like to have resolved as well. Kind of like an improvement workshop for Swing/Jive . . . Ok, exactly like an improvement workshop for Swing/Jive . . . Ok, it IS an improvement workshop for Swing/Jive.
Come join us for a good time and to learn & develop some good skills.
Be seeing you.

Saturday Mornings: November 3, 10, 17, 24
9:45 – 11:45 am

9:45 – 10:45 am: Technical drills in International and American Smooth Style dances specifically designed to strengthen and improve your dancing and dancing abilities. Focusing on the elements that make Partner dancing more fluid, dynamic, powerful and fun: Lowering, Rotation, Swing, Cant and Sway. Developing these basic skills will improve your performance in not just this dance, but in all the dances by giving you more control over your balance, timing, power and expression. Or, in other words, allowing you to dance freely and funly.
And that is just too much fun to miss out on! So, what say you give it a try? Eh?
10:45 – 11:45 am: Amalgamations. Putting those drills you worked on in the first hour to work in the actual Figures of the dance, allowing you to develop more control over the steps, floor craft and yourself.
COST: $15/person
$10/person youth discount
December: Quickstep II (or possibly Viennese Waltz – talk to us)
