Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – November 12th 2018
Dear Dancers,
Two things (that actually end up being the same thing): First, this Tuesday night will be the last night of the COS Salsa class. A good time was had by all over the last six weeks and we look forward to the next session (probably beginning the end of January 2019 or at the beginning of February 2019).
We will be offering a new survey class at that time, only this time, instead of offering nine or ten dances in six weeks, we will be offering five. And then five more during the next six-week class. Just as many dances, but twice as many steps!
That means that those of you who took the survey class last February will be able to get a good review the steps you had and learn some new ones as well, doubling your repertoire. And those of you who are brand new, will get to start at the beginning and get a healthy dose of steps to speed you on your way to dancing-for-fun. Win-win.
And second, next week, we will be back at the Wellness Center on Tuesdays with a Swing workshop/review/fix-it clinic/etc. But more on that next week.
NSFN (‘Nuff Said For Now).
Come join us in classes this week. There is still a lot of fun to wring out of your level no matter what level that may be.
Be seeing you.

Dance Lodge
1315 Nixon Rd, Mt. Shasta Ca
Saturday Mornings: November 3, 10, 17, 24
9:45 – 11:45 am
Dance: Quickstep I
9:45 – 10:45 am: Technical drills in International and American Smooth Style dances specifically designed to strengthen and improve your dancing and dancing abilities. Focusing on the elements that make Partner dancing more fluid, dynamic, powerful and fun: Lowering, Rotation, Swing, Cant and Sway. Developing these basic skills will improve your performance in not just this dance, but in all the dances by giving you more control over your balance, timing, power and expression. Or, in other words, allowing you to dance freely and funly.
And that is just too much fun to miss out on! So, what say you give it a try? Eh?
10:45 – 11:45 am: Amalgamations. Putting those drills you worked on in the first hour to work in the actual Figures of the dance, allowing you to develop more control over the steps, floor craft and yourself.
COST: $15/person
$10/person youth discount
December: Quickstep II (or possibly Viennese Waltz – talk to us)
