Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – November 19th 2018

Dear Dancers,

We will be holding a “make-up” class in Salsa at the COS Campus tomorrow night (11/20).  This means that we will be unable to hold our Swing clinic class at the Wellness Center as we had promised.  Apologies extended, but we will still be holding one next week (11/27).

We WILL be holding class this Wednesday night (Thanksgiving eve) for those of you who would like to burn off a few extra calories before you put them on! (Or for those of you who realize just how efficacious dance is in maintaining a healthy life-style).

And we will also be holding our Saturday morning Technique class this Saturday (11/24) at the usual time.  So now you can burn off those extra calories after you put them on as well!  Personally, I recommend both strategies (and, as someone who could afford to burn off some extra calories himself, I am ideally situated to know about these things).  Or just come to learn the best ways to dance.

Finally, we will NOT be holding class on Thursday, you will not be surprised to hear.  And we would like to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving (and a quick recovery).  See you this week (or next).

 Be seeing you.

Saturday Morning Technique Class

Mt. Shasta City Park

Dance Lodge

1315 Nixon Rd, Mt. Shasta Ca

Saturday Mornings:   November 3, 10, 17, 24

9:45 – 11:45 am

Dance:   Quickstep I

9:45 – 10:45 am:     Technical drills in International and American Smooth Style dances specifically designed to strengthen and improve your dancing and dancing abilities.  Focusing on the elements that make Partner dancing more fluid, dynamic, powerful and fun: Lowering, Rotation, Swing, Cant and Sway.  Developing these basic skills will improve your performance in not just this dance, but in all the dances by giving you more control over your balance, timing, power and expression.   Or, in other words, allowing you to dance freely and funly.

And that is just too much fun to miss out on!   So, what say you give it a try?  Eh?

10:45 – 11:45 am:      Amalgamations.   Putting those drills you worked on in the first hour to work in the actual Figures of the dance, allowing you to develop more control over the steps, floor craft and yourself.

COST:  $15/person

               $10/person youth discount

December:  Quickstep II (or possibly Viennese Waltz – talk to us)
