Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – February 11th 2019
Dear All,
Well, February has started with a bang. Thank you all for braving the elements and coming out in force. That’s the kind of spirit the pioneers used when they waltzed their way out west and we are glad to see it still alive today.
Keep on coming to class this month (and next and the one after that and so on), not only for the sake of your dance skills, but also to commemorate (and emulate) the spirit of those brave pioneers of yesteryear who are the reasons we are all here today.
Just as a reminder: The dance for Wednesdays at the Wellness center this month is Beginning/Intermediate Foxtrot and yes, beginners are still welcome! Foxtrot is the simplest of dances to learn, so come join us.
The Cha-cha has gotten wild fast, but is so much fun no one has caught on to how hard they are working and how quickly they are developing. (If you don’t tell them, we won’t . . . it’s always so rewarding when they come to realize it themselves!)
Better yet, become one of them and join us!
We are in Fort Jones again this week and looking forward to it as always. We will be wrapping up the Bolero this month and starting Waltz, so any of you who have been dying to join us but were afraid of being too far behind in the current dance can join the class in March (if you can hold out that long) for a new one, commencing March the 1st.
Waltz is one of the most enjoyable of dances and occurs more often socially than any of the others (not to mention being relatively easy to learn) so it will be a good place for you to start.
And those of you in the Fort Jones area who have already had some Waltz, be prepared to develop a deeper understanding of what you know as well as to learn some exciting new steps!
Oh yeah . . . we have some exciting new steps! We can’t wait to give them to you.
Good times ahead, good times now: we truly live in a Golden Age of dance! So don’t just sit there, partake and go for the gold!
See you all there (as if any of us are!).
Our beginning series at the College of The Siskiyous in Yreka
It will be a great place for beginners to start, a great place for those of you who took last year’s class to review and learn new steps and a great place for the more advanced dancer to hone their skills.
