Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – October 14th 2019

Dear All,

I was reading an article in National Geographic called “Why We Lie”.  But I already knew the answer before I read it.

We lie when we cannot sit; we sit when we cannot stand; we stand when we cannot walk; we walk when we cannot run; and we run when we cannot dance.  Proof positive that dishonesty is the ultimate result of not dancing.

Come to dance classes and be on the side of the angels (and truth & honesty)!  The more classes you take, the more honest you become.  (We will know how honest each of you want to be by how often we see you in class!)

And to become even more honest than that, come to the dance party on October 25th for two hours of open dancing (6:30 to 8:30 pm) at the Lake Shastina Club House (15244 Driftwood Lane, Lake Shastina).  After a dose of dancing like that, it should be impossible to lie for three days!!!

So: do yourselves and your country a service and strike a blow for honesty this week (and thereafter) by dancing!

See you there.

Saturday Morning Technique Class

Mt. Shasta Park

Dance Hall

 1315 Nixon Rd.

Mt. Shasta, CA

Saturday Mornings:   October 5, 12, 19, 26

Dance:   QUICKSTEP

9:30 – 10:45 am:     Technical drills in International and American Smooth Style dances specifically designed to strengthen and improve your dancing and dancing abilities.  Focusing on the elements that make Partner dancing more fluid, dynamic, powerful and fun: Hip Action (Rotation, Sinking, Isolation,  etc.) Foot action (motility, bounce, control, etc.), Arm Action & Rib-cage action (Isolation, Side Extension, etc.).   Developing these basic skills will improve your performance in not just this dance, but in all the dances by giving you more control over your balance, timing, power and expression.   Or, in other words, allowing you to dance freely and funly.

And that is just too much fun to miss out on!   So, what say you give it a try?  Eh?

11:00 – 11:30am:      Amalgamations.   Putting those drills you worked on in the first hour to work in the actual Figures of the dance, allowing you to develop more control over the steps, floor craft and yourself.

COST:  $15/person

               $10/person youth discount

November dance:   WALTZ
