Newsletter – Oct 2nd 2012
We are happy to announce that we have the Dance Hall for two more sessions (Oct. 6th and 20th), but only in the mornings (for the Technique Classes). Due to popular demand, we will be doing the Waltz again for the month of October so this will be a good time for those of you who just took it in August to really solidify the gains you made, and for those of you who missed it, this is your chance to learn the technique that will make you better, stronger dancers (which greatly increases the amount of fun ballroom dancing can be, trust me). The Waltz is the best dance for developing technique since it more equally balances the left and right sides of the body than the others dance do. And the basic technique is pretty much the same for all of the dances, so taking the Waltz Technique classes will strengthen all of it.
Our fledgling website is accessible, though still pretty much in the prototype stages. It is at www.mtshastadance.com and at this point it’s pretty much little more than a repeat of this newsletter, though we intend to have a monthly schedule up soon along with a feature recommending music and a weekly blog discussing various aspects of dancing. It is our intention to have all this up and running before the end of October. We will keep you informed of the progress.
There is still room in our Youth Program class being held at Sisson School in Mt. Shasta. There will be six more classes (dates: Mondays; 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/ 5 and Thursday, 11/8). The age groups range from 5th through 8th grades and the kids are having a tremendous time (we don’t tell them they are learning movement skills, too). Contact us for more information if you are interested.
See you on dance floor this week.
