Ballroom News, Siskiyou County & Northern California – February 28th 2022

Dear All,

Important news, everybody:  since March is a five Wednesday month, we will be using the first Wednesday (3/2/2022) to finish up with the Foxtrot.  Then, starting on 3/9, we will commence with Tango for the rest of the month.

Unless . . . unless we get a bunch of newbies (newbies come in bunches, the same way cows come in herds, wolves come in packs and geese come in gaggles) who, upon seeing our posters around town, show up en masse this Wednesday (wait for the laughter to die down), eager to start the Tango, in which we are honor-bound to cave.  Not likely to happen but wanted to give you a heads up regarding the (remote {very remote}) possibility.

On Thursday we will start with Bolero as posted, and even though March is a five Thursday month as well, since Bolero is such a fun dance, we will be only too happy to give it the full five-week treatment.  In fact, Bolero is so much fun we may find ourselves hard pressed to change it come April (and may, indeed, extend it for another month, class participants willing).

That is all we’re going to say about that.  And since we have exhausted our mysteries-of-the-universe-solving resources in solving last week’s mystery of the universe (see previous newsletter), we are going to give said mysteries a rest and let them relax in their mysteriousness for a few weeks longer, when we hope to solve another one for you (and for us).

In the meantime, if you come to classes, we will be solving the mysteries of how to dance (and  how to learn how to dance) on a minute-by-minute basis.  Don’t miss a minute of it!

Be seeing you there, then.

Cheers,

Rick and Peggy Nixon

p.s.  Mask protocols are being relaxed in accordance with various studios around the state (and our own sick-to-deathedness of breathing filtered air).  We will encourage the un-vaccinated to do what they feel is best for yourselves and will be happy to wear our masks when dealing specifically with you should you so desire.  Otherwise, we are all on our own, now, as so-called adults should be.  Make your decisions accordingly.
