Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – September 19th 2022

Dear All,

And they try to tell us that rain dances don’t work!  Due to a dearth of students in last Thursday’s class (we had one student), we dedicated the night to a rain dance, doing a foxtrot so lovely that the heavens themselves began to weep. (Yes, we know the rains didn’t get here until Saturday night, but that only demonstrates how far away the heavens actually are.  So there!)

And: y’all’re welcome (I believe that is the correct contraction for “you all are”.  At least that’s what the English Oxford Dictionary proclaims {and who are we to argue with the English [let alone those from Oxford!]}). (I’d draw your attention to yet another triple parenthetical clause, but you have all come to expect them from us, so it’s probably old hat by now.  Still, there it is.)

Back to the purported purpose of this newsletter (we wouldn’t want accusations of a “subverted purported purpose” to get started, after all {which would leave us with an “averted subverted purported purpose” . . . I suppose [which, in turn, would leave us with a supposed averted purported purpose [not to mention another triple parenthetical clause! |or even . . .gasp . . .a quadruple parenthetical clause! That’s one more than the keyboard actually has brackets for! Remember, you saw it here first, folks!|]})!!!!

Oh yeah . . . the purpose of this newsletter:  come to dance classes.  Salsa on Wednesday night. Foxtrot on Thursday night.  6:45 pm both nights.  Attend, have fun, learn to dance.  See you there.

Cheers,

Rick and (yay) Peggy Nixon

p.s.  We have relaxed Mask Protocols..  We will encourage the un-vaccinated to do what you feel is best for yourselves and will happily don our own masks when dealing with you specifically should you so desire.  Otherwise, we are all on our own, now, as so-called adults should be.  Make your decisions accordingly but make them based on real information.  Don’t be afraid to wear them, but don’t feel that you must.

p.p.s.    What do you call it when The Lone Ranger takes you out for dinner and a movie?  A “masked man date”!
