Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – February 7th 2023
Dear All,
What was that out there in the environment? A touch of warmth? We can’t be sure because (and I believe I speak for all of us on this) we can’t remember what warmth feels like (not whilst outside, at any rate). If I dig down deep into the racial memories of my people, I think I have a vague recollection of something slightly resembling a phenomenon referred to at the time as “oo-armth” (something about caves and campfires if I’m not mistaken). But it has been a while, has it not?
That is, unless you’ve been coming to dance classes. Dancing warms the body, warms the soul and warms the spirit (and it has been known to make the brain break out into a sweat once in a while as well!). So how about it? It is not too late to join us as we will be reviewing last weeks steps and figures again this week so newbies can safely and easily join us and the oldbies can have their memories refreshed and the figures burned into their memories for all time.
Rumba (the easiest and most sensuous of all the Latin dances) on Wednesdays and Foxtrot (the easiest and most elegant of all the Smooth dances) on Thursdays. An excellent place to start your foray into partner dancing (aka couple dancing; aka ballroom dance) and an excellent place to continue to develop your dancing (aka . . . you know) and a great place to polish your advanced skills too. Something for everybody!
And it just so happens that “everybody” includes you. Come join us.
Cheers,
Rick and Peggy Nixon
