Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – December 18th 2023
Dear All,
Grand news, everybody! This Friday, December 15th will be the day of the Christmas Practice Party at the Lake Shastina Community Center (aka the Lake Shastina Clubhouse) which is located (surprise, surprise!) in Lake Shastina (actual address: 15244 Driftwood Lane Lake Shastina CA). The time will be 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm . Our hostess, Victoria is planning on refreshments being available, but any Christmas or Hanukkah (or Kwanzaa or Saturnalia {or whatever it is you celebrate}) treats that you may have and would like to share will always be welcome. Nothing involving silverware, please (unless you want to bring that, as well).
There will be a suggested donation of $10 per person to cover expenses JSYK (Just So’s Ya Know).
There will be Christmas-themed ballroom dance music interspersed with more traditional ballroom dance music. We have never heard of Hanukkah-themed dance music, or Kwanzaa-themed dance music (though I have heard through an oddly-reputed grapevine that there is nothing quite like a Saturnalian Waltz) but if you have one of the above, bring it (preferably on a cd) and we will be happy to swap out one of our non-themed recordings and play it instead and I am sure that everyone will be happy to dance to it.
And that just leaves our usual exhortation to come to classes this week and our traditional farewell. So: come to classes this week and get a few more steps under your belts so you will be able to have even more fun this Friday (and maybe pick up a few more tips for the smoother execution of the figures you already know which translates into even more more fun!)
