Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – March 19th 2024
Dear All,
So sorry, kiddie-winkies, but we have been called to fill in at work this Friday night which means that we can’t hold the Practice Party this month of March (we try to hold Practice Parties on the fourth Friday of every month, for those of you who don’t know {and now you do!}). We shall endeavor, in future, to ensure that this does not happen again. Our deepest apologies and regrets.
But classes will be held as usual, this week, and a good thing too: Wednesday night’s Samba has been just too fun for words (which is why I am going to {uncharacteristically} shut-up about it right now) and the Waltz has been so elegant that elegance has practically begun to ooze out of our pores (which sounds inelegant but, in fact, is not . . . and is definitely not a euphemism for sweating!). If you have never experienced that (and should you want to), you know where to be this coming Thursday night (and next)!
And, as Wednesday is the actual first “day” of Spring (the calendars say today {Tuesday}, but as the Equinox does not actually arrive until 8:07 pm pst tonight {11:07 pm est}, we contend that Wednesday is the real first “day” of Spring!), we entreat, encourage and exhort you all to commit to the new season by making it a season of dancing (by not missing a class). Too bad the month is called “March” and not “Dance” or that would be a lot easier (but whoever said fun was easy?).
Let’s make that our new battle cry for the month: “March? Hell, I’m dancing!” See you all in class (and looking forward to it!).
