Ballroom Newsletter – Jan 22nd 2013

Dear Dancer,

A couple of changes this week: First, notice that the next time we go to Fort Jones will be Monday, February 11th and not on a Friday as usual. Thing will probably return to normal in March (if not sooner), but keep an eye out for notices.

Also, we will be having our usual Lesson and Practice Party this coming Saturday, which has been more or less combined with the evening Foxtrot workshop this last month. We will be teaching Tango and if you have been taking our Tango classes this month, will add to those lessons. If you are new to Tango, we will make sure that you get the basics down and leave able to traverse and circumnavigate the floor. The Practice Party will include music for all the dances with an emphasis (meaning greater number of dances) on Tango.,

And, finally, perhaps the most important change of all, we have hot water. Did you know that they can pipe that stuff right into you home? Amazing. We heartily recommend it. In our quest for solutions to our hot water-less existence last week we stumbled across this children’s poem that we think is enchanting enough to share with all of you, and would like to do so now. It is called “The Hot Water Otter”

The Hot Water Otter ought

To make your water hot.

But the Hotter Water Otter

Ought to make your water hotter.

Now there is no hotter Otter

Than the Hotter Water Otter

(Though the Hotter Water Otter is the oddest)

If you find a hotter otter

Then that otter is a fraud (or

Perhaps you’ve found an otter who’s the hottest).

An amazing thing, the internet. It ranks right up there with hot water.

See you on dance floor.
