Ballroom Newsletter – May 7th 2013

Dear Dancer,

This month begins our Quickstep and Salsa Series at the Wellness Center. For those of you who want an easier dance to get started with, the Salsa, being taught in the Tuesday night Beginning Class, is an ideal one to begin with. The steps of the Salsa are very simple and easy to learn which makes it an ideal dance to build the skill and confidence that will make the other dances fall to your efforts more readily.

Some of you have inquired as to the difficulty level of the Wednesday and Thursday night classes at the Wellness Center, since they aren’t specifically labeled “Beginning”. Well, they are also beginning level classes, but depending on the level of the people attending, they may (or may not) move a little faster. But everyone is encouraged to take them, from the most beginning level students to the more accomplished. We will move each of you along at the speed which best suits them.

The Tuesday night class, being labeled “Beginning” will always work at the slower paced beginning level no matter who attends. This makes the Beginning class an ideal place not only for the absolute beginner, but also for any of the more accomplished who wish to practice and develop their basic skills to do just that.

So, if you are a beginner but can’t come on Tuesday or would rather take one of the dances being taught on the Wednesday or Thursday night classes, by all means and any come to either (or both) of those classes. You will leave with the ability to do the steps.

For those of you who may have trouble “walking the walk”, take heart in the knowledge that by the end of the month, you will be able to “dance the dance”.

See you on the dance floor.

PRIVATE LESSONS are AVAILABLE to anyone who would rather learn in a more personal environment (i.e. no witnesses) or to anyone who wants to progress faster or to anyone who simply wants private lessons. Also, if you cannot make any of the group class times, private lessons are arranged in accordance with your schedule and at your convenience. Contact us by e-mail or telephone (number can be found below).
