Ballroom Newsletter – October 8th 2013

Dear Dancer,

Autumn is hard upon us and the air is getting a little chillier and a lot nippier. How to stay warm; the perennial Autumn question. Allow us to make a suggestion: physical activity. Allow us to make a specific suggestion: Ballroom Dance. Allow us make an even more specific suggestion: Ballroom Dance with us, right here in Mt. Shasta, Weed and Fort Jones.

Ballroom is a low-impact, stress relieving and fun way to get your heart pumping and your muscles working. If you don’t think that this is a strenuous enough activity for you, let us know. We’ll work ya. The people who come to us for lessons are constantly expressing surprise at how much of an unexpected workout they are getting. Come find out what they are talking about. And again, if you want more, we’ll work ya.

Cha-cha is a vigorous dance in itself, and the Tango can be as well. Take either (or better, both) of those classes this month for that extra bit of warmth that could make all the difference in your electric bill.

And remember: It is never too early to start working/burning off those Holiday calories in advance. Start making room for turkey (or the soy/grain/glop equivalent) now.

Also don’t forget, this Saturday evening we will be holding a class and practice session starting at 7:00 pm. We will be teaching Beginning Foxtrot, so if you know anyone who would like to get started, this is the easiest dance of all. Or if you would like to brush up on your skills, we will show you how to pep up these beginning steps.

See you on the dance floor.
