Ballroom Newsletter – December 17th 2013
Dear Dancer,
Come one come all to the Wintertide Ball this Saturday in the Park’s upper hall… if I could match that to a Christmas Carol tune I would sing it for you, so…perhaps just as well not. This is our 2nd Annual Wintertide Ball and we hope to make it even more fun than the first. We won’t be performing this year, alas, but we do plan to have extra dance activities to fill in. Old tyme dances like The Virginia Reel, The Gay Gordons, St. Bernards Waltz and possibly the Valeta as well as a couple of line dances (taught by a guest teacher) will be taught and then danced. These are, for the most part simple, repetitive dances that are easy to learn and lots of fun to do. Oh, and we might slip in The Teddy Bear’s Picnic if everyone behaves.
So: food, dancing, camaraderie, it sounds like a Christmas right out of the Dickensian era. It just doesn’t get much more traditional than that! As they say “The more the merrier” so come and, by your presence, contribute to the general merriment and have it returned four fold. (*Details below)
Quick note: no Parkinson’s class this week.
And the Saturday morning Technique class is going to be held in the Upper (main) Lodge this Saturday only.
See you on the dance floor.
