Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County – August 26th 2014

Dear All,

Here it is the last week of August, last chance to get a taste of this month’s dances. Don’t be afraid to come just because you have missed a class or two (or three). We will teach you whatever steps you will need to have fun in the time we have left.

Also, like schools and colleges the nation over, September marks the start of our “School Year”, at least in the Tuesday Night Beginning Class, and we will be starting our cycle again from the beginning.

For those of you who don’t know, we have all of the dances organized from the least complex to the most complex, so starting with the American Style Foxtrot in September, which is the easiest of them all to learn, we will proceed through all the dances month by month, until next September, you will have learned them all, even the most complex. And you will have learned the most proficient way to do them as well.

If you have any friends who have always wanted to learn, now is the time to push them to get started. Of if you just want to brush up on your own skills, you will find that re-learning the steps and figures will give you a deeper understanding of those steps and figures and your own speed of learning will increase.

And, finally, just to let you all know, my SWORD WOUND (and NOT a hernia operation, as Peggy would have you believe) is healing quite nicely. I am being careful not to over do it, which is a danger with hern…(ahem) sword wounds, but I am able to be far more active in classes this week and look forward to seeing you all there.

Show up to dance, stay to see my scar. How can anyone pass up an opportunity like that?

Be Seeing You.
