Ballroom Newsletter, Siskiyou County & Northern California – March 1st 2016
Dear All,
March being the month of Spring (considered the beginning of the season-based year), we have decided to embark on a number of new ventures (well, two, to be precise).
First, since Quickstep is not a good dance for beginners, we have not been introducing it to our Wellness Center series for quite some time.
Starting this month, we will be re-starting our series with the Foxtrot, but we will only focus on those Foxtrot figures that can be translated into Quickstep figures. That way beginners will be able to both develop their Foxtrot skills, and also prepare themselves for the Quickstep (which, in April, will become the Wednesday night Intermediate dance) should they want to continue and learn the Quickstep.
Then, in April, the Beginning class will take on the rest of the Foxtrot figures, which will give the beginner a very strong, sound foundation in Foxtrot specifically (Foxtrot in particular). And our intermediate and advanced students will get a shot at Quickstep this year.
If you have any friends who do not dance but who might be interested, this would be a good chance to grab them be the scruffs of their necks and drag them to dance class where they will get an extended chance to develop their basic skills.
Second, for the first time in a long time, we will be offering Latin Technique in our Saturday morning Technique classes. We will work on basic Latin motion, Lead/Follow skills and body articulation which will give you better control over your Latin Dancing and, indeed, all of your dancing.
Don’t miss this chance to develop new skills and seriously improve the skills you already have.
See You There.
